Bm Guitar Chord

This page will provide you with several voicings for the Bm guitar chord. Remember, you can also use these as arpeggio patterns. It's always beneficial to learn chords in several positions across the fretboard for easy access wherever you are.

First some theory...

Bm is short for B minor as you probably know. The B minor chord, also known as a B minor triad, consists of the notes B (root), D (minor 3rd) and F# (5th).

As the chord only contains the basic minor triad, any minor scale can be played over it, since all minor scales consist of this root, b3, 5 triad. However, if the chord is part of a larger progression, you'll need to look at the context in which it is being played to judge which minor scale will work most effectively.

Bm guitar chord forms

There are several positions in which the B minor chord can be played, using all 6 strings to just 3.
